Applications are invited for admission to Certificate Course in “Introduction to Linguistics”Jadavpur University, Kolkata
- Duration: One Year
- Minimum Qualification: Graduate in any discipline.Number of seats are limited

Course Description: (1st Semester) Introduction to Linguistics, Historical Linguistics, Phonetics, Phonology and Morphology, Syntax, Semantics, Lexicography.
(2nd Semester) Sociolinguistics and Field Method, Endangered Languages and Language Revitalization, Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics / Brain and Language, Typology and South Asian Languages, Indo-Aryan and Bangla, Applied Linguistics, Computational Linguistics.
Course Goals: To prepare candidates for specialized and interdisciplinary research in linguistics and associated fields.
Forms (Rs 50/-each) will be available from the Information Counter, Jadavpur University (Main campus) or may be downloaded from the university website www.jaduniv.edu.in on and from 1st June, 2011. The forms, duly filled-in, will be received at the Information Counter by 15th June, 2011. The down loaded forms must accompany a crossed bank draft of Rs. 50/-drawn in favour of ‘Registrar, Jadavpur University.’
List of successful applicants will be published on 23rd June, 2011
