Part time M.Tech Course in Computer Science and Application under Sponsored Category for the Session 2011-2012
Applications are invited for admission in 3 Yr. (6 semesters) Part time M.Tech Course in Computer Science
and Application under Sponsored Category for the Session 2011-2012. in the AKC School of IT (Self
Financing Course) (Subject Code : 106)
Eligibility : Any Engineering Graduate / MCA / Master Degree holder in Science with Mathematics at Bachelors
Degree Level and having basic knowledge of Computer Science.
Both C.U. and Non-C.U. candidates will have to appear for an Admission Test followed by Interview.
For Non-C.U. candidates atleast first class or its equivalent grade in last qualifying examination and at least 60% or its equivalent grade in (10+2) level. No limit of year of passing of last qualifying examination for both C.U. and Non-C.U. candidates.
All have to go through Admission Test followed by Interview.

Application Form and format of Hall Ticket to be downloaded from the above mentioned websites.
C.U. candidate means the candidates who passed B. Tech../B.E./MCA/M.Sc. Examination from C. U. as
eligibility degree for admission in relevant M.tech. course.
Non-CU candidate means the candidates who passed the same degree from other Universities.
Application form to be downloaded from University website www.caluniv.ac.in &
www.caluniv-ucsta.netApplication Fee : Rs. 200/- (For General) and Rs. 100/- (For SC/ST/PH).
How to deposit Application fee : Application Fee may be deposited in Cash in C. U. Cash Counter either at
Rajabazar Science College campus, 92 A. P. C. Road, Kolkata 700009 or at College Street Campus,
87/1 College Street, Kolkata 700073 or Ballygunge Science College Campus, 35, B.C. Road, Kolkata –
700019. between 11.00 A.M. to 2.30 P.M. in all working days. Alternatively Application Fee may be
deposited through bank Demand Draft in favour of “Calcutta University” payable at Kolkata.
The Original Counter Part of the deposited Challan to be attached with the Application Form at the time of
submission. In the reverse of the Original counter part of Cash receipt challan/ D. D. please mention the
name of the candidate, course(s) applied for.
How to Submit the Application Form:
1] Application must be accompany attested copies of all relevant Mark Sheets and Certificates as applicable
2] For Sponsored Candidates Employer Certificate must be attached to the Application Form
4] Attestation by C.U. Senate / Syndicate member , any University Teacher / Officer, Principle of any College or any
teacher of a College affiliated to C.U. or Gazetted Officer are accepted.
5] All documents and photo submitted must be signed by the candidate himself/herself.
6] Format of Hall Ticket will be available in the website. Duly filled in Hall Ticket format to be submitted
alongwith application form. From Application Form receiving counter student copy of the Hall Ticket will
be issued immediately after receiving the application form(s).
7] For Hall Ticket of admission test please bring extra two-stamp size photograph.
8] Please paste one self-signed stamp size photograph on the application form.

between 11 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. all working days (except Saturday, Sunday and Holidays).
10] Incomplete Forms are liable to be rejected.
11] If any error/mis-information is detected at any stage, even if overlooked at any earlier stage admission shall be
treated as cancelled.
12] Measures have been taken to make the Information free from error. However, if any mistake overlooked, please
bring to the notice of the Authority. Necessary correction will be made in the Notice Board.
Admission Rules for M.Tech.(C.S.A.) Sponsored Category
1. Selection will be made on the basis of merit.
2. Limit of qualifying examination year (current year / preceding year) for both CU and Non-C.U.
candidates is not applicable for 3 Yrs Part time M.Tech. Course in Computer Science and Application.
3. All Non-C.U. degrees must be approved by the AICTE and equivalent to the C.U. degree in the
respective subjects. Admission in M.Tech. courses required to submit Application for Registration in
C.U. along with original Migration Certificate from parent University / Institute within one month from
the date of admission.
4. For Sponsored candidates Certificates from sponsoring Company / Institute is essential.
5. Sponsored candidates will be selected through admission test and interview.
6. Sponsored candidate or candidate in 3 Yr. Part-time courses with GATE score are not entitled to get
GATE fellowship.
7. In case of non-availability of suitable sponsored candidates the same seats would be filled up by the
general category candidates.
8. Sponsored candidates : Candidates sponsored by Company/Institutions must submit Certificates from
their employers indicating that
i. the employee will be provided leave of absence from the place of employment for the
entire duration of study (3-years) at the University of Calcutta
ii. that his / her tuition and other fees for the entire course will be paid by the employer at
the time of admission and the same will not be claimed back under any circumstances
9. Error/omission/ambiguity if any be subject to change by the approval of the appropriate authority.
10. Any error / misinformation if detected at any stage of admission even after provisional admission
application will be treated as cancelled. Overlooking of any misinformation not be claimed as right. If
the application doesn’t match with the details of eligibility criteria of that course will be treated as
cancelled at that stage.
11. For preparation of merit list through Admission Test weightage will be given for (i) Written test - 75
(ii) Last Qualifying Examination - 15 (iii) Interview – 10.
(a) Percentage of marks to be counted during the preparation of merit list (i) where percentage
of marks mentioned (ii) where equation of conversion of percentage of marks available in the
marksheet (iii) in all other cases percentage of marks will be calculated by the conversion of
equation [i.e. (CGPA-0.5)x10]
12. Cut off marks for preparation of list for Interview after Admission Test is decided by the admission
committee
13. Preservation of documents related to admission to M.Tech. courses will be made for one month
from the date of publication of 1st selection list.
FEES STRUCTURE

Admission Fee 500.00
Session Fee 44.00 per annum
Library Fee 600.00 for 3 yrs.
Laboratory Fee 100.00 per month
Tuition Fee for Sponsored Candidate 4000.00 per month
Application Fee Rs. 200/- (Rupees two hundred) for General category of candidates and Rs.100/- (Rupees
one hundred) for SC/ST/PH category of candidates. Identity Card fee Rs.30. Duplicate Identity Card Fee
Rs.50/-(if applicable)
For Sponsored Category tuition and other fees for the entire course will be paid by the employer at the time
of admission and the same will not be claimed back under any circumstances.
