The selection for admission to 3 - year B.Sc. (Nautical Science) Degree course at T. S.Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Campus; 4-year B. Tech. (Marine Engineering) Degree course at Marine Engineering & Research Institute, Kolkata, Kolkata Campus & National Maritime Academy, Chennai, Chennai Campus; 3-year B.Sc. Joint Entrance Examination 2011 conducted by IITs on 10.04.2011. There will be no separate Entrance Examination for admission to the above institutes/courses and only those candidates who secure Minimum Qualifying Marks for Ranking (MQMR) in the individual subjects for respective category in JEE-2011 will be called for counselling in order of merit in the month of July/August 2011. All Indian Nationals seeking admission to the above mentioned institutes /courses must fill up the application form for IIT-JEE-2011 and also a separate application form issued by Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus.

Seats: There are 185 seats in T. S. Chanakya, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Campus; 246 in MERI-Kolkata, Kolkata Campus; 46 in MERI-Mumbai,

Mumbai Campus; 80 in NMA-Chennai, Chennai Campus and 40 seats in Visakhapatnam Campus. Out of these, 10 seats are reserved for foreign nationals.

Special Information: The sale of application form commences at the above centres from 28.01.2011 and the application form duly filled in should be submitted to the Indian Maritime University, Mumbai Campus, Karave, Nerul, Navi Mumbai – 400 706 on or before 22.03.2011. The counselling will be conducted in the
month of July/August 2011 on the basis of the merit of the candidate in IIT-JEE - 2011 Examination. The courses will commence in mid August, 2011.

For candidates joining B. Tech. (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering) degree course, the physical standards are as required for regular engineering students.

For other candidates, details of the medical standards are available in the information brochure. However, the candidates should note that, for joining B. Sc. (Nautical Science) degree course & B. Sc. (Maritime Science) degree course, normal vision of 6/6 is essential for each eye separately and those wearing
glasses will not be eligible for admission. Whereas in the case of joining B. Tech. (Marine Engineering) degree course, glasses will be allowed up to plus or minus 2.5.Un-aided vision should be 6/12 in both eyes minimum or 6/9 in the good eye and 6/12 in the other eye at least. Defective colour vision is a

disqualification for B. Sc. (Nautical Science) degree course, B. Sc. (Maritime Science) degree course & B. Tech. (Marine Engineering) degree course.

Candidates should be mentally & physically fit for sea life. On successful completion of the above courses, the cadets will be eligible to join the Merchant Navy both in India and abroad, with attractive salaries and exciting career prospects.

There are total 10 seats available for direct admission of foreign nationals to these institutes. They need not appear for IIT-JEE-2011 Examination. Last Date - 06 May 2011 Selection Procedure - Admission to the 2011 Batch of B Tech (ICT) program will be based on the All India Rank of AIEEE 2011 (All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2011), which is being conducted by CBSE on 01 May 2011. Therefore, only candidates who are appearing for AIEEE 2011 can apply for this program of DA-IICT. The short-listed candidates, based on the All India Ranking of AIEEE 2011, will be called for counselling at Gandhinagar and will be offered admission in order of their merit (based on the All India Ranking of AIEEE 2011). Date of Birth - Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 01 October 1986 are eligible Scholarship - Students with an AIEEE All India Rank Better than 5000 would be awarded merit scholarship equivalent to full tution fees. In addition, 5 merit-cum-means scholarship would also be offered subject to a means test. How To Apply : Submission of Application Form A candidate has to apply in the prescribed DA-IICT Application Form. A photocopy of the AIEEE 2011 Admit Card is also required to be enclosed with the completed DA-IICT Application Form and sent to the Institute in the envelope provided for the purpose. DA-IICT Application Form Number should be written on the top right corner of the photocopy of the AIEEE admit card. The prescribed DA-IICT Application Form can be availed as under: The Form along with the Information Brochure and Admission Procedure can be availed for Rs. 1000 at select Branches of Axis Bank (formerly UTI Bank) given in the following link. List and address of the branches of Axis Bank (formerly UTI Bank) where Application Forms are available. Alternatively, it can be obtained by sending a demand draft, of Rs. 1050 drawn in favour of “DA-IICT” and payable at Ahmedabad, to the address given at the end. Candidates must write their name and complete mailing address with phone number on the back of the demand draft. DA-IICT will not be responsible for any loss or postal delay.
